Bicep And Tricep Bars

Also known as curl bars, EZ Bars, or multipurpose bars, bicep/tricep bars are used to develop upper body areas, such as the arms, lats, and the deltoid muscles. Of course, how one holds the bar, whether over-handed (palms-down) or under-handed (palms-up), determines what specific area is targeted. Over-handed, for example, zeroes in on the lower biceps, just above the inner-elbows, whereas over-handed hits the front part of the biceps. This bar also works the triceps when users push down as opposed to pulling up for the bicep focus. That’s why the EZ Bars are appropriately called a bicep bar as well as a tricep bar.

By being affixed to a high-low cable hook on any pulley exercise machine, bicep-tricep bars are primarily used to perform bicep curls and tricep press-downs, hence the additional term of Tricep Press-Down bar. Standard weight plates are typically employed by the bicep/tricep bar, which is usually made of chrome, aluminum, or steel to withstand the resistance provided by heavy weight plates of over 100 pounds. This multipurpose bar, called “curl” for a reason, features two swooping humps in the middle for balance and a knot around either side to keep the weight plates from shifting or moving during lifting or pressing.

The inclusion of weight collars adds further support in maintaining the snug immobility of the weight plates on the bicep bars. Weight training uses the multipurpose bar to develop both bicep groups, tricep groups, as well as the forearm areas (lower arms) through a neutral grasp of the bar. In many cases, Tricep Flex Push-Up bars focus on the enhancement of the triceps, while the curl bar emphasizes the development of the biceps. Again, it all depends on the particular case, but in general, the bicep/tricep bar provided adequate exercise for the entire arm and shoulder.

Bicep/tricep bars are common on the Internet and can be found at a number of exercise or weight-lifting locations for affordable costs. It isn’t beyond reality to find a used biceps/triceps bar for under $20.00, which is a great deal, especially for those with limited funds.

The multipurpose bar, as stated by its name, can be used for a variety of exercise, even leg pumps, if ankle straps are securely hooked onto the bar. Many experienced bodybuilders employ innovative techniques to achieve a unique workout for their time and energy. This bar can accomplish anything the bodybuilder wants.
