Resistance Gyms

Resistance gyms are the same as multi gyms, only that the term refers to the concept of resistance training, in which muscles are challenged by opposing forces of weight and/or gravity to the point that they must adapt by reconfiguring themselves to increase their own capacity to handle to the power of those forces. As muscle cells grow, so does the strength level they possess and exert. This ongoing process is carried through resistance.

Resistance home gyms are personal customized versions of the resistance gym designed for the home setting. These are compact and inter-working compared to the commercial resistance gym, the latter which is vaster and involves more of a variety of specialized resistance benches and/or machines (“specialized” meaning that each bench or machine is designed to focus on a particular muscle group or region of the body). The resistance home gym (i.e. the home multi gym) features multi functional equipment that more conveniently allows bodybuilders to perform several different exercises at one time or in one location by merely readjusting position or equipment specifications. One great example of this would be the Weider Max Resistance System Gym, which consists of a low pulley for rowing; a lat pull-down for back development; leg extensions necessary to facilitate leg presses for strengthening calf, thigh, and hamstring muscle groups; and flyes to engage biceps, triceps, deltoids, and pectorals. The Weider Resistance Gym in general provides ongoing resistance for every muscle and muscle group in the body. Many also include a warm-up resistance band. Gym units for resistance vary in the exercise they feature. Other well-known brands include the Gold’s Gym Power Flex Resistance Gym, the Bowflex resistance gyms, Body Solid resistance (multi) gyms, and the Nautilus resistance gyms.

Results that come about through the employment of resistance gyms vary also, but many common results include: the exchange of body fat with firmer muscles; augmented overall strength, endurance, and energy levels; higher metabolism; reduced heart and blood pressure rates; denser and stronger bone composition; enhanced balance, body support, and coordination; and an increased level of physical competency in performing and completing tasks of everyday life. These upshots make exercisers feel better about themselves and their lives and therefore bring about psychological effects, such as increased self-esteem and self-confidence, as well.

In the end, no matter what the physical needs, resistance gyms are essential for getting people on track by utilizing equipment that is geared for particular types of workouts and can accommodate any personal schedule.
